Do you want to find out how the European political decision-making process works? Do you want to gain experience in policy communication? The European Liberal Forum (ELF), the think tank and political foundation of the ALDE party and the European liberal family is looking for a communication assistant for a 6 month period starting in June.

At ELF, together with our 56 member organisations, we set up research and capacity-building projects to promote discussions and broker liberal ideas for Europe’s future. As a Communication Assistant, you will contribute to building a democratic and liberal Europe while learning how to use different communication tools to promote liberal policies in Brussels and across the continent.


Your main tasks and responsibilities would include:

  • Help implementing the organisation’s social media strategy: planning social media calendar; creating visuals and writing copies for social media, tracking social media analytics;
  • Photo and video documentation of ELF events;
  • Developing graphic design elements and different types of creative content (e.g. flyers, event promotions, infographics);
  • Monitoring quality and brand coherence across ELF communications activities and products.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, European Studies);
  • At least basic experience in graphic design programmes (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Canva);
  • Experience in managing social media platforms;
  • Fluent spoken and written English;
  • Willingness to build a skillset in policy communications, branding and digital political marketing;
  • Can work independently, show initiative and a problem-solving attitude;
  • Ability to multitask and flexibility to take up unexpected new challenges that arise;
  • Affinity with liberal ideas.
